Red Barn

For my Cowboy and future farmer, Ed!

Before the Red Barn.
His Pole Barn!
Or as I am calling it his Man Cave!

When we began building our home we both wanted
a one story home and a land for a pole Barn!

Of course it had to be Red!
The official color for barns.

To celebrate the Red Barn and the land that we choose
I crafted this card for my husband, Ed.

It was great fun to color this stamp from
Art Impressions with Copic Sketch Markers!

The Sentiment on this stamp tells what I am feeling.

Wish a grateful spirit and joy.
Filled hearts, let us give thanks.

Distressed the Denim Core 'dinations paper.
Dry Embossed the Bazzill Red paper in Perfectly Paisley by Cuttlebug.
Added Hero Arts Red Decor beads and White lines with my Uni-ball Pen.

This afternoon our expert Pole Barn Builder - Ron is finishing the cupola.
The weathervane will be added to the top.

This will be quite the Red Barn -  Man's Cave when it is finished!

Spontaneity!

Word for 2014

As I began thinking of my word for this year I thought about
the words that I have chosen the last three years;

2013 - Dream
2012 - Imagination
2011 - Enjoy

All three years the word has been a perfect fit for that year.

What word would I choose for 2014?

Kindness. Abundance. Home. Discover. Compass.
Believe. Present. Moment. Nourish. Enrich. Blessing.

Kindness is a way of life for me.
Abundance is given to me daily thru love.
Home - a very special place for my family and myself.
Discover our new town of Newberg and the surrounding area.
Compass is the direction that I can take my life.
Believe - I do believe that the feeling Santa provides can happen all year.
Present is to appreciate each moment in each day.
Enrich myself with the people and things I enjoy.
Blessing every day to live this second life I was given.

All of these words would of been special for me.

Then one morning a new word came to me

Spontaneity...

unstructured, unplanned, spur-of-the-moment

It is very important to me to have everything done.
I make lists for everything.
Somewhat type A personality.

Now, I realize that you can not be spontaneous every moment.
Work still has to be completed and appointments honored.

In my free time I am going to be more spontaneous!

Decide those mornings when I wake up what I would like to do that day.
Something that would be fun and exciting!
Not plan my free time in advance!

My first spontaneous thing I am going to do is celebrate the
Third Anniversary of my blog, yes today!

Happy Anniversary to bouquets northwest!

I hope that all of my blog readers create
Spontaneity in your lives!

Year of Birthday's

Happy Birthday!

I am going to admit something awful that I keep doing...
sending Birthday cards late and not at all.

Especially at the end of the year.

It is soooooo...silly!
Here I am a Craft Coloring Card woman who loves to create cards.

My promise this year to challenge myself to send or give
Birthday Cards to all 26 (yes, I counted) family and friends on time!

Speaking of challenges.
I thought why not start the year off with 2 challenges!

Here is my first Birthday card for the year.

Square it is!

Top 2 Tools I used to craft this sentiment:
Inkadinkado Stamp Placement - placed the stamp straight on the velum
EK Success 1 1/4 Square Paper Cutter - created the V on the end

If only you could feel the dot paper, the paper has a felt like texture.

Copic Sketch Markers were chosen to complement the color scheme on the dots.

Yes, that is our Christmas Tree reflecting in the window.
Who is the first Birthday card recipient?
Our daughter Brenda!

Happy Birthday!

Happy New Year

There is No Place Like Home to start a New Year!

After taking a few months to concentrate on setting up a new home,
Celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas -
I am ready to craft in 2014!

The focus for this year is our landscaping -
lawn, trees, bushes, vineyard (yes, vineyard) and or course flowers!

No yard is complete without flowers!

Over the next few months I will share with you my
Top Ten Flowers!

#1 Flowers - Roses

Rose bushes will be on the ends of the vineyard
and we will need 12 different colors of bushes.

So... the first of each month I will color a rose that will be placed in our vineyard.

My first choice is my favorite Rose

Brandy

Brandy

Brandy shades of soft yellows, apricot and light orange.
With a lightly fragrant scent.

Already I can dream of rose bouquets in my home!

Word for 2014 - check back on Jan. 8th!
