Doesn't this blue bench look inviting at Schreiners Iris Gardens?
Iris have 6 (my lucky number) petals.
Three that cascade down are called Standards.
The three petals that rise up stand for Faith, Wisdom and Valor.
The Iris flower got it's name from the Greek Goddess Iris, meaning rainbow. When I think of a rainbow I envision my Copic Markers in many, many colors. As I colored the Iris's I decided to use the 2011 new Copic colors, shades I haven't colored with and a few of my favorite colors.
On the purple Iris I colored with V20 and V25 both 2011 colors, very pretty shades for flowers. Accented with V17 a true shade of purple.
The colors for the pink Iris, I choose the shades of RV55, RV63 and RV66,all new!
Also, I highlighted the Iris's using the new shades of E81 and E87.
The Iris is the official flower of what State?
