Year of Birthday's

Happy Birthday!

I am going to admit something awful that I keep doing...

sending Birthday cards late and not at all.

Especially at the end of the year.

It is soooooo...silly!

Here I am a Craft Coloring Card woman who loves to create cards.

My promise this year to challenge myself to send or give 

Birthday Cards to all 26 (yes, I counted) family and friends on time!

Speaking of challenges.

I thought why not start the year off with 2 challenges!

Here is my first Birthday card for the year.

Square it is! 

Top 2 Tools I used to craft this sentiment:

 Inkadinkado Stamp Placement - placed the stamp straight on the velum

EK Success 1 1/4 Square Paper Cutter - created the V on the end

If only you could feel the dot paper, the paper has a felt like texture.

Copic Sketch Markers were chosen to complement the color scheme on the dots.

Yes, that is our Christmas Tree reflecting in the window.

There is No Place Like Home to start a New Year!

After taking a few months to concentrate on setting up a new home,

Celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas -

I am ready to craft in 2014!

The focus for this year is our landscaping -

lawn, trees, bushes, vineyard (yes, vineyard) and or course flowers!

No yard is complete without flowers!

Over the next few months I will share with you my

Top Ten Flowers!

#1 Flowers - Roses

Rose bushes will be on the ends of the vineyard

and we will need 12 different colors of bushes.

So... the first of each month I will color a rose that will be placed in our vineyard.

My first choice is my favorite Rose

Brandy

Brandy shades of soft yellows, apricot and light orange.

With a lightly fragrant scent.

Already I can dream of rose bouquets in my home!

Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas Time!

I love this time of year.

The leaves begin to change color, it is cooler outside, making soups,

layering on sweaters and curling up in front of a fire!

Trick-or-treaters, Roasting Turkey and decorating Christmas Trees!

For all of these things that we celebrate during this time 

I thought let's get a little traditional for the calendars.

Pumpkins, Turkeys and Trees!

The ribbon trim on each calendar represents the month.

Happy Pumpkin saying Boo!

Gold and Reds are in the ribbon color.

Ho Ho Ho! 

Santa will be placing presents under the tree very soon!

Watching the beauty of the colors in the flowers when
Summer arrives is one of the greatest gifts I can give myself.

May I just share with you how much I missed Blogging!

Quite surprising to say.

Some people write in journals... 

I prefer to blog!

In February I shared with you about our Dream Home!

Which is such a joy to be building!

One of the important rooms in our home is where I will color.

Originally I wanted a Craft Coloring Barn.

Then I thought about it for awhile...

and decided on a Potting Shed.

(More about the Potting Shed in the future).

Now, I am sharing my future Craft Coloring Loft!

 My new neighbor Debbie shared with me how beautiful sunrises are.

So... I got my coffee and my favorite Rose chair and drove to our new home.

Sat at my window in my new Craft Coloring Loft!

One word....beautiful!

Now, the CCL!

The Craft Coloring Loft is 13 X 21 feet!

One place to color!

With all my craft tools and supplies in one room!

One of the benefits of building... lighting!

8 can lights - all will have natural light bulbs

for those grey days in Oregon!

Choose not put up a wall at the end of the staircase.

It gives the room a open feeling.

Tomorrow I choose the stair railing.

Next, insulation and walls!

April, May and June Calendars

What fun and excitement my husband Ed and I are 

having selecting everything down to each cabinet knob

for our "dream" home we are building!

However I find myself thinking, planning and updating every decision.

It can get a bit overwhelming!

Simply... I needed to create and craft!

My favorite On-Line Card Classes were presenting a one week class - perfect!

Using Patterned Paper is one of my favorite ways for inspiration and color palates.

Which was my focus on this blog in April and May 2012!

I thought what fun it would be to create the

Monthly Calendars using Patterned Papers.

Sunny Days from Prima Marketing was my selection.

Very pretty colors - shades of pink, green, turquoise and orange!

 Having all of my Patterned Papers packed in storage - bonus shopping! 

I took a break and went to the CKC Scrapbook Convention.

Great convention for selecting patterned papers for card crafters!

April is Rosanna's favorite!

 

  Tip: Take the time and really look at the patterns on the paper.

I cut 3 different "borders" for May.

 Enamel Dots - love this embellishment!
